Susan CoppedgeAs part of the key international cooperation in the fight against sexual exploitation, Scelles Foundation hosts US Ambassador-at-Large Susan Coppedge, in charge of the fight against human trafficking.

To discuss the most effective ways to fight against sexual exploitation and to strengthen the commitment of the international community against this crime against humanity, Yves Charpenel, President of Scelles Foundation and Deputy General Prosecutor of the Supreme Court in France, will meet Susan Coppedge, Ambassador-at-Large to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons and Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State, september 9, 2016.

The program of the meeting :

Overview of the actions and results
What is the global assessment of the prosecution of traffickers, protection and empowerment of victims, and prevention of sexual exploitation ? What is the analysis of current laws and their implementation ? What about the involvement of stakeholders ?

Sharing of successful experiences
The fight against this crime against humanity requires the sharing of innovative ideas and success stories, and the spread of effective laws. Too meet the interest shown by the Ambassador-at-Large Coppedge for the French law strengthening the fight against the prostitution system, adopted on 13 April 2016, Yves Charpenel will present the key points of this comprehensive legal device that combines a preventive, repressive and social approach and concerns at the same time victims, traffickers, sex-buyers and public opinion.

Strengthening of the most vulnerable protection
In a context of globalization, poverty, terrorism and mass movements of refugees, our fight now also focuses on how to better identify and support people most at-risk and reduce their vulnerability. That new challenge is highlighted in the 2016 Trafficking in Persons Report from the US State Department, as in the 2016 Global Report on prostitutions from the Scelles Foundation, both analytical and incentive tools.
